A beachfront home. Freedom. Flow. And I built it by making brave decisions when things didn’t feel aligned anymore.

 Hello, my loves, welcome to the Flow State Business podcast. You guys, I had the most beautiful, lucid moment today sitting on the beach. So before my day got started, it was about eight o'clock and I said to the whole fam, let's go for a beach swim. It's school holidays, first day of school holidays. So you know, just.

Bracing myself for all of the fun and all the adventures and all the distractions to come. Literally, we've got boys coming over tonight for sleepovers, so yeah, it should be lots of fun. I thought I would get this episode recorded before the house turns into a crazy screaming mess. But anyhow. I'm sitting on the beach and I look over at my son and my husband and they're surfing and bodyboarding and just having a blast, and I'm sitting there swimming in this beautiful, clear ocean, seeing the fish literally at my feet.

And I said to myself, Ruby, you have built this life, this life that I remember creating this dream board around during a family holiday one year. And it had living on the beach, living in a beautiful place where I had the view of the beach and a nice car, nice things, family, holidays, basically everything that my life is now.

And I just said to myself, rubes, we did it. We did it because we decided to do it, and we made some very difficult choices, some huge life decisions, some challenging moments, navigated through all of the nos and turned them into, well, how can we, or there has to be a solution or there has to be a way, and here we are now.

So. I just wanted to start this episode with that vision in mind because what we wanna talk about is a very powerful conversation that I know I need to be having with you, because I know some of you have been feeling very weighed down about. Money and finances and feeling stuck in a cycle that just doesn't feel good.

And some of you even messaged me last week saying, I love how you talked about a hundred K month. That is so exciting and I want to call that in. But right now, this is where I'm at and I feel incredibly. Afraid that it's never gonna happen for me, or that I'm just so riddled in fear that I can't make clear decisions and clear choices.

So I hear you guys, you know who you are, and this episode is for the entire collective because I know anytime I get one message about a theme that there are, you know, 10, a hundred more of you who are feeling somewhat the same. I. Okay. It's gonna. Definitely give you this massive look into how somebody runs a seven figure company that usually you'd have to pay a lot of money for. Okay, so today I'm gonna break this down into three parts. I'm gonna talk about the reality check of how to recognize when something isn't working and why it's time to actually go ahead and do something about it, rather than sitting there and complaining.

Nothing ever changes. Secondly, we need to start exploring. What's possible, and the way that I share this is through personal stories of mine and through my clients. So I'm going to talk about the shifts that I've personally made that completely changed, how I now bring in money and what I do to call in more of it, and in a very short amount of time, sometimes instantly.

That's always a really fun topic to explore. We have to go through the science of flow. I always wanna bring in elements of flow science and how this is also everything I'm talking about here around what's possible and reality checks and changing up what you know needs to change, how this really feeds into the science of our bodies and our mind, our brain, because that's how big change happens.

And then we'll start talking about some bold actions that you can be doing and taking straight away. So let's jump in. What's not working right now, what in your life and in your financial situation and in your business is simply not working? You are either in a complaining cycle, so basically everyone that you come across who's willing to lend you an ear you are complaining to.

So you could be talking to your soccer parents about this. Like someone goes, how's work? And you're like, oh, you know, it's really difficult right now, the economy or so are you doing that and complaining to every single person and being very open about it, very honest about it, but still complaining. Or I use someone who's just in apathy, and that meaning you know that you're stuck, but you're doing absolutely nothing about it, and therefore nothing's changed and it hasn't changed for some time.

And especially when things like finances aren't flowing, you get even more head in the sand ish and you would rather not really notice it, bring attention to it, talk about it, and then you just feel like. Oh, like I'm in apathy. I also love how apathy sometimes sounds like pathetic apathy, apathetic. You know, it's like you feel pathetic.

Not to say you are, but there's that kind of feeling of like, geez, why aren't I able to do something about it? Like sometimes maybe it's not too nice. But I do say that like every now and again, not all the time, but sometimes like rubes, just stop being pathetic. Come on, let's go. So this is your sign that something needs to change.

If something's not working, it needs to change and complaining about it or waiting for a shift without changing your energy or actions, is 100000% gonna keep you stuck in the same loop and nothing's ever going to feel different. You have to do something to shift your reality if you don't like it.

There's, um, Joe dispenser. He talks about it all the time. You don't like your reality, you can change it. Don't just sit in the energy of frustration and decide that it's just not gonna happen. Instead, I want you to decide that it's just not acceptable to stay where you are and not do something about it.

Your life was meant for bigger things and greater things, and sometimes that could be just moving into a direction that doesn't naturally feel like what you wanna be doing. But you're doing it because it's different. Okay. So some things that I did to change my financial reality and thinking about certain parts of my life, I'm gonna time jump a little bit here.

When I was working full time, there was just this moment where I was sitting at my desk and it was beautiful. I had a corner office. I was overlooking Collin Street in Melbourne, beautiful trees outside. But I just decided, you know what? I'm just done waiting for my monthly pay. Every month we'd get paid.

And I don't know if it's the same in your company, but that was the cadence of when we were paid. And every time I got paid, I got this big serotonin hit and I was really happy and I earned my keep and I'd done my job really well, and that was really cool to get that money in and I could pay off the mortgages and the bills and all that and then, you know, do cool stuff with it.

So I was never in a position where it felt like I was living paycheck to paycheck. Energetically, I was living paycheck to paycheck, like looking for that next hit of, oh yay, life money's come in, you know? But not out of lack in, you know, you know what I'm trying to say, but I wanted instead to feel that every single day, and I wanted to feel that on my own terms.

I wanted to get paid daily. I wanted to feel like I was getting paid for my own business and my own work, not working for the man or working for an employer. That was a really interesting decision that I'm like, nothing's gonna change if I'm just sitting here waiting for my monthly paychecks. I'm never gonna live that life that I actually really want.

And I still, by the way, remember the day that I received my first. Paycheck. My first sale from a client and it was $50, but it was the best $50 that I had ever earned in my life. I was like jumping around the lounge room dining table, both me and my husband. We were just so happy that we were able to earn on our own terms, and I knew at that point something was gonna change.

So that was from the early days. So much has happened since then around how I earned, but even up until November last year, I still wasn't consistently earning daily. And that's something that I was reminded of that that's what I wanted. I wanted to have daily sales, like almost as though if I was a brick and mortar company or like a cafe or something, I'd be getting paid daily, right?

There'd be sales coming through the till, customers would be coming in. I wanted that energy of easy sales. And yet, for the first six years of my business, a lot of my business was set up to receive money, but high ticket. And so it was sometimes a little slower for my audience to come across the line or to save for the coaching program or to say yes.

And I realized, oh my God, I need to restructure my business so that I can have this reality come in, but not at the expense of earning less. It's actually gonna add to what I've already built. So I restructured my business. I did this in November. By the way, all of this is written in the a hundred K month mini book, which is linked in the show notes below.

But I remodeled my business to create daily sales, and it was. Incredible. Like every day. I've not missed a beat since November. There have been sales coming in some days. The sales it, well, I started off in November with one $7 passive sale every single day. And then it moved to a higher ticket, not so much a higher ticket, one-off offer, but the cart value itself went up.

So I added some add-ons and some upsells and some bumps and some trip wise. And people would just add, add, add, add. So an average order value could be up to $400. So someone would check out. Starting with a $7 offer and checking out at 400 bucks, I'd be seeing that every single day, and I have been seeing just different values around that coming in every day, which has felt so, so good.

So you can do it. You know, I got off my butt and it wasn't easy, but I had to learn a couple of new systems. I had to really think about my business model. I had to really look at what it was that wasn't working, where I had to redirect a lot of my energy. So that's how that happened. Okay. Another example.

There are days when I just decide that I really just want more money to flow in through the business and stay with me. Here. It's, I'm, I'm very, very grateful for every single client that signs up, but sometimes there are days where I link my energy more to a dollar value than I do with client transformation.

Then there are other days where it's all about the client transformation and I couldn't care less about the dollar value. So on the days where I'm like, no, I'm working with dollar value today, and that's a really fun metric to play with, but also my energy is really linked to dollar value. There's nothing wrong with that, you guys, by the way, money is energy, client transformation is energy.

It's just how you wanna translate that energy that day. So the dollar value energy was calling me loud and clear. I remember, 'cause this was just, I remember this was literally a couple of days ago, so I wanted to close off the week on a high note, and I wanted to call in a high ticket client. I. But I didn't really wanna go in and do like a whole campaign around it, or even just like pitch on socials.

I was just like, universe, my high ticket client's gonna come in. I'm really grateful for my sales. Already today, $7 sales had come in $19 sales, average order value sales of 300 bucks of coming that day. But I just really wanted something big and I wanted that number to be close to 10,000. So I'm sitting there going, all right, how am I gonna conjure up 10 K today?

And what does that involve me doing? So I'd sit there for a little bit. As I'm regulating my state, I'm doing my breath work, I'm doing my tapping. Then I moved into journaling and I was like, what will you have me do and say? And it was just the regular journaling, which is always very abundant and I love it.

But anyhow, what came out in the journal was go for a massage like Maha. Of course, that's what's gonna come out my journal, 'cause I really want a massage and I love seeing my friend Amy, who does massages for me, but also a lot of reiki and energy healing. So I booked myself in and I said to the universe, you've asked me to come here, so I'm gonna come here.

I'm just gonna book an hour. Sometimes I book like three hour massages. I just love them. So this one was short for me and an hour is short. It's a quick express massage. And, uh, I went in, had a great chat with Ames, had my massage, had a big release actually, like I, I really needed it. It was one of those, like, been working out at the gym a lot, done a lot of back exercises, just needed the knots to come out.

And what do you know, massage is done. Paid for it, walking back to the car and I open up my dms and it's a client of mine, Elisa, who I've worked with several times, shout out Elisa. And she's like, I wanna join the inner circle. Count me in. And I tell you what, I have not mentioned the inner circle.

Anywhere, anywhere, anywhere, nowhere else since, you know, we did our first call and I'm like, the right people are gonna come in. They're still gonna come in. Here she is literally like, by the way, I wanna add something else to my package and I'm ready to go all in and I'm ready to pay in full. And we did it like transaction done.

Within an hour of that massage she was in settled inside of Inner Circle and that is just, oh, I love that, Elisa, you are just amazing. But you know what? There's these moments that I called that in. I conjure that up that day. By the time I walked out of that massage, which I was instructed to go to, by the way, listen to your intuition.

I had a painful, very high ticket client out of nowhere. Okay? So when you change your state, everything changes. You start attracting what you desire because you are vibrating at the frequency of what you want to receive and how you wanna receive it. I was vibrating at the desire for many years of what I wanted to receive, but the how I wanted to receive it wasn't there.

It was definitely do the things in terms of what the industry is doing post on Instagram, you know, go hard on the countdown timers. I. Post to LinkedIn and sell really hard there. Sell really hard into Facebook groups, join Facebook groups, pay for them, um, ads, obviously. Now all of these have a purpose.

Like I'll always say that there's tools and resources that we can use as business owners. When you are not linking to the vibration of how you wanna sell. So in my case, I just wanted to sell by conjuring up something and just going there with ease and drawing in and magnetizing my most aligned client.

That doesn't mean I didn't really, I didn't have all of the avenues or the product per se to already be there. Like it was already there for people to say yes to, you know, so. My point being is you can't just sit there and conjure. You need to have avenues open for people to be conjured into. So if your money situation is feeling really meh and you are feeling just stuck, the first question I'm gonna ask you.

If we were to be sitting down one to one, which I did with one of my clients last week, who said the same thing, like, I don't know, I seem to make money really well. Off my properties. She's got Airbnbs, for example. I seem to be making money through my, my husband. My husband makes really good money and obviously it contributes to the household, so we never need to really worry about money, but I just wanna make money through the business.

It's my thing and I want money to come through the business, but I just don't understand why. Frustrated, I'm in apathy, I'm stuck. And the first question I asked her was, well, let's go to your Instagram and see how I can pay you. There was literally no way I could pay her. Let's go to your stories again.

Still Instagram, I know, but I meant bio. So let's go to your stories and see if there's a link out to pay you. There was no link out to stories to pay her. Okay, go to the website. Nothing on her website. It was all just like application forms. Go to her LinkedIn, it was a freebie and that's it. She didn't have anything else.

So I said to her, babe, there's no way I can pay you. You are conjuring money into an avenue that's not open, or the door does not exist. So. Wherever it is that you're feeling stuck, please just first make sure that there is some form of flow that can happen. Otherwise, you are bottlenecking the energy towards nothingness.

It's just hitting a brick wall. When you change your state, everything changes. When you change your state, clarity changes. When you change your state, these ideas, these solutions come to you and they feel easy because you have literally grounded yourself and realized, wow, I'm thinking all up here, all up in the ether.

All up through the headspace, but not actually through clear eyes. Okay. The flow science part of this is actually really interesting and because we, you know, like you get through moments in your business where you're just staring at the same page over and over again. You've looked at your Instagram bio that many times that all the words are just mushing into one.

You've stared at your website that many times that you can't see the six different spelling errors on there, even though you may have Grammarly and it's underlined and you still can't see it. You get what I mean? Okay. Maybe a little bit much of an example, but in the same way when you're in flow and you're calling more flow in, if you are just doing the same thing over and over again and not willing to color outside the lines and to look at things differently, you are never really going to see where there could be very easy and effortless solutions for you and.

Inflow science. This is actually backed by a ton of research that can help you shift your energy and your results simply by triggering novelty. So it is one of the 12 flow triggers that Mihashi talks about in his book flow. And there's so much research around all these 12, but today I really wanna bring to the forefront the idea of novelty and what.

That plays how this plays into helping you feel very unstuck, financially and unstuck in that creativeness, which might give you that next million dollar idea, or at least give you that next idea of how to, you know, create better messaging for your mastermind so that you're filling that up and it feels so much better for the business as a whole.

So. Flow states are optimal states of consciousness. It is actually the study of highest consciousness where you feel and perform at your best. And one of the most powerful triggers in flow is novelty. So this is introducing daily, by the way, not just every now and again, but daily, new and fresh ways to connect with flow.

This, I've got so many examples for you, I'm just gonna reel some off. This could be just switching up a position around where you're working from in the house. If you're sitting at your home office all day every day, again, there's no novelty around that. Move to your dining table or work from the car, something like that.

Another example could be the candles and the smells that you're burning. Switch those up, the crystals around your desk. Switch those up, what you're wearing each day. Your Glip stick color, switch that up. You may choose to wear high heels just for the sake of it whilst you're sitting there, so you kind of just feel a little bit more dressed up.

I do that sometimes. Novelty and switching things up can happen in your home environment or outside of it. Some other things in terms of novelty, which I have advised my clients on, it's made a massive difference in their life, is actually doing something different in their day to day. And this is like hobbies.

Or fun things that you're experiencing. New things, new skills that you are bringing into your life. Last year I had this really big stint where I just loved paint by numbers. I did probably six different paint by numbers, and it was novel. It was new. I loved looking forward to that. It really helped me just go into a place of focus, but it was also creativity.

I love seeing an end result. Another client of mine literally said to me that they've just started ice skating and they live in another part of the world in Australia, but. They started ice skating and doing ice skating lessons. So that was really novel. And now like he's totally obsessed. He does like three different ice skating things a week.

I had another client of mine who started pickleball and joined a pickleball competition, had played tennis forever and ever. And it was kind of like a tick the box thing. It's like, gotta play tennis this week, gotta play tennis this week. And it just kind of got kind of boring. And then she registered for a pickleball competition, met a whole new group of friends and joined a whole different community of pickleball heads.

And now she's obsessed, you know? So when you engage with something novel, your brain actually releases a lot of dopamine, which in effect enhances focus. It brings on more motivation. You just feel more excited. You definitely feel more creative. And this is also, if any of you have followed Dr. Andrew Huberman.

He's a very well-known neuroscientist. He shows that when our brain encounters something new, it activates this reward pathway. And it creates this level of flow state that actually helps you think way outside the box. Kind of like how that Bradley Cooper movie with the pill, what's it called? You know what I mean?

Like where his brain just like starts activating in this whole different way, limitless, you know? It's so cool. You can bring that on naturally through novelty. So if you are not making money, if your business is feeling stuck, if you just can't sell right now because you've no idea where to sell to, who to sell to, do something different, change up your state.

We need new things to happen in our life because by changing your environment. Trying out new hobbies and doing things, I guess more macro to the business environment, like raising your prices, changing your color scheme of your website, doing something really simple like working from a different location enough to spark novelty, drinking from a wine glass instead of normal glass.

Like so many different things I can think about that just helps you feel unstuck. And it's not gonna happen straight away, but you'll just notice these little 0.01% changes that you're making in your day to day. This is going to help you feel very different about your business. It's gonna help you potentially change your pricing.

And think about the types of people that you wanna work with. Change your messaging. Change the way that you are showing up every single day. This freshness is definitely going to trigger that dopamine hit on you, and it's gonna make you just smile more, feel lighter, feel more fulfilled. You'll just have so much more space to access, flow state and create from a place of excitement and possibility as opposed to feeling this level of.

Heaviness and like the ceiling is just lower and lower on you and you just feel this complete frustration around you. So to wrap this up, I want you to do a couple of things. One is recognize what isn't working and decide that it's completely unacceptable to stay there because complaining is only gonna keep you in that same air quotes, pathetic energy.

We are not doing anything about it. Secondly, I want you to take. Something of a bold step to do it differently, and there's the restructuring around your office space or something like that potentially. But I want you to do something really fun like enrolling into a new class. A girlfriend of mine just said she's enrolling herself into a dance class and has taken up surf lessons, which is so cool.

You know, so much dopamine, so much flow state, so many new communities, new conversations, new friends to be made. So go and do that. And start thinking about how you want money to flow to you. So not just that you want more money, but literally journal on how you are deciding money can flow to you. With that example, please borrow mine, where you can go from a massage and instantly make money, walk out of something that you love doing and see money and sales coming in.

You're making decisions from a place of worthiness and creativity, not fear and frustration, and you can decide like today's the day that it gets to change. You don't need to wait for anything else. You don't need to wait for another week. You don't need to wait for that perfect website to go up. You can decide now.

Money wants to flow to you right now. You don't need to overcomplicate this, but the thing is that when you have this little spark which shows up, someone might be sharing a piece of advice with you. You might have had a conversation with somebody, you might have listened to a podcast like this one, and there's a spark to follow it.

Follow it. You are so ready to transform your reality. You, I know this to be true because you are listening to this episode and you already know what you need to do. You really do.
