Flow State Business
Welcome to the Flow State Business Podcast. I’m Ruby, founder and CEO of Flow State Business, and I help coaches and service providers build a business that sells every single day without launches, funnel stacks, sales calls, or the grind.
This show is all about daily sales and finding your flow state within that. I share exactly how I build evergreen, passive sales using a simple bridge model that turns small offers into a full ecosystem, so you can make sales while you sleep and grow toward your first million in flow.
I have spent 8 years in business and generated more than 4 million dollars in sales, and these days I run everything from the Gold Coast with my husband Michael and our two boys. I learned the hard way that more launches, bigger teams, and constant hustle do not buy you freedom. So I stripped it all back, built a model that actually fits my life, and now my masterminds sell out and sales come in almost every day on autopilot.
Each week you get solo episodes packed with the exact tactics behind selling daily, plus honest conversations with other founders and leaders building in flow. You will walk away ready to take aligned action and build a business that feels as good as it looks.
Press play and enjoy the binge.

The low ticket thing everyone's getting wrong
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
A lot of you have low ticket a bit misconstrued. We're not going for volume. If that's a shocker, you need to pay closer attention my loves. Chasing 550 sales a month is a job you gave yourself. I'd rather have 40.
I'm getting into the biggest mistake I see, and the one rule that makes low ticket actually work.

Okay, guys, before we go into this episode, if you listened to the last episode before this one, I was talking about brand deals for coaches, and I have to share something. It's sort of like a continuation of that episode, and it's so cool. Like, I just think there are moments like this that you literally cannot explain, and I did say this in the last episode as well. I can't explain exactly how brands find me, but they find me and they send me DMs. So one brand that I have already worked with reached out and wants to do it all over again, which is so exciting. So I'm re-signing with them for another stint of a brand deal. And then the, my new brand deal is so cool. Like, I can say it now. I'm working with a co-work space And it's a co-work space that has 18 offices all around Australia. So as you all know, I'm going on a national tour. I'm meeting my clients all over, and it is a huge deal. Like, I cannot wait. I'm going to the Brisbane one tomorrow. I'm setting up, and I'm gonna film, like, a day in my life going to a co-work space, and it's gonna be really awesome. Like, I cannot wait because I've just been craving being in a co-work space, and then they reached out to me and it's just, like, the easiest, easiest, most amazing people and team that I could possibly dream of working with. So, yes, I'm so excited, and more to be revealed very shortly. And then I also had… Do you remember when I said I wanted to work with health or beauty? Oh my gosh. And so a health supplement company reached out to me, and I have been taking these supplements for about nine months now. I don't even know if they know that I take… It's the same exact brand of supplements that I'm taking as well. Like, what the heck? Anyway, they reached out. That's still in very early stages 'cause they're asking for my rate card and stuff, but guys, this is… Oh my g- this is exactly what I mean where you've just gotta put it out there, and I'm getting so, so close to hitting my goal of brand deal partnership incomes and just also dream brands. So I mean, like, we're about to kind of move into September. There's so much time left to do this, and I have a feeling, I have a sneaking suspicion that it is just gonna continue heating up as we get into, like, sales and end of year and stuff. So go back and listen to that episode after this one to get really inspired. I got a really beautiful message from one of my clients, and she just said she was so inspired. She's made her list. She's also just signed, you know, a really exciting collaboration, and more and more are popping in all over the place. So if that one was calling to you, don't forget that it's absolutely on the cards for you as well as extra income for your coaching business. Okay. All right. Sunday night, um, had a massive day. We drove about an hour and a half out to this beautiful cricket field because my son is trying out for more elite cricket teams at the moment, and it was just so nice to be there. I don't know, there's just something so posh and beautiful about cricket clubs and, you know, the white picket fences. The grass is immaculate. Just, I don't know, just I really love the cricketing culture and the parents and everything. So I feel amazing. I feel a little bit too sunned up though. Like, you know when you feel like you've got too much sun? Like, not in terms of sunburn, but just feeling a bit kind of like, "Woo!" I need to, like, drink heaps of water. So in that spirit, I'm now sharing all of this with you'cause I just feel like I have to channel the energy somewhere so it's going through the microphone. And I, I really do feel like we need to have a proper sit-down and come back to the topic of low-ticket sales. This is, after all, where I find my flow state. This is how my entire business has really completely changed in the last year and a half, and what has, I feel, really saved my business and what has continued to save a lot of my clients who are going through sales slumps and not getting high-ticket sales as much. This has really come in at such a point in their timeline where it has been a huge abundant turning point. So we need to come back to the core of low-ticket goodness, and I know a lot of you will appreciate this. And I think, you know, a couple of weeks ago I did talk about how so many of you are getting, you know, low-ticket sales a little bit misconstrued. And, you know, it's not your fault. There's a lot of different ways that you can cut the low-ticket pie. And the way that I think about low-ticket, especially for those of you who love the Flow State business mantra and manifesto and philosophy, is we're not going for volume. And if that's a shocker to you, then w- you need to be paying closer attention, my loves. Low-ticket over here is about forging excellent client relationships so that they are so warmed up in quite a short period of time. And in fact, a lot of my clients have reported back that their sales period has actually bent time because they're converting high tickets a lot faster, and that's what it's about. I saw someone post the other day, someone that is sort of in my world, you know, and I know of them, basically saying that people who are trying to sell you low-ticket are just trying to sell you a dream and it doesn't work, and you're gonna burn yourself out chasing it. And at first I read that and I was like, "Oh gosh, people in… who are kind of following me and what I'm doing are gonna totally take that out of perspective." But then I realized, you know what? I actually agree with them. I don't stand Like for that at all. I actually agree with them because people who are selling low ticket at volume and who are chasing down really huge numbers, they are… I know how much money they're putting behind their accounts. I know how much money they're spending on ads. I am always chasing the elusive answers to ads. You know, I'm always trying to, like, experiment, and nothing has beaten the boosting ad strategy. I've got a course on that, by the way. I'll leave that in the show notes. It's called Boosting Basics. I've tried working with ad companies, agencies, individuals, just incredible people who it works for their business, but for whatever reason it doesn't work for mine. I've done courses and workshops, and more recently I tried an ad campaign that was like 100 bucks a day, and it just hasn't converted as well as the one that I'm throwing five or 10 bucks behind. You know? So you gotta do you. But at the same time, I'm not going for the volume there. I'm going for seeing if I could reach people who desperately need a tool that I'm selling that will help them unlock even more abundance in their coaching business. And if that means I reach 50 people and five people buy it, I'm stoked with that result. I'm not looking at like, "Oh, this ad only… Cost per click was this much and it got me 2,000 people and, you know,.2% converted to this." I'm like, "I could not give a shit. I just want five people to buy every single day." And if it's obviously paying for that ad, but it's also building such deep trust with the people who have gone ahead and bought like a $27 offer, I'm so stoked. I'm really happy. And so like, I don't know, I just wanna paint this picture for you because if you are someone who is going for the volume game and you wanna make… And, and the people who go for the volume game are people who do not have a bridge offer and have no intention of taking their life cycle through to a high ticket offer. So they only wanna sell passive income low ticket, and they wanna just sell that again and again, and are so not interested in even offering private coaching or anything like that. And I get that. Like I know I've got some of you who are like, "Show me how to just crack that bit'cause I'm not interested in doing the other stuff." So let's say you've got a $27 offer. I'm just gonna pull that number out 'cause it's one of my favorite low ticket numbers. And your goal is to make, I don't know, like 15,000 a month. That seems to be a bit of like a popular number that I get told a lot. So that you wanna make 15K passive off a $27 offer. That, I'm just gonna quickly calculate, is 550 sales. Hopefully I've got the math right there. 550 sales. And if you wanna make 15 grand every month off a$27 offer, you've gotta make 550 sales every month. Now that means, girl, you need consistent traffic. I don't even wanna calculate based off your cost per click how much money you have to put behind that. And can you imagine? Like, you're not just, like, posting three times a day. I'm not even exaggerating there. You're, you're running ads, you're chasing reach, you're doing probably a lot of refunds. A lot of low-ticket businesses do a lot of refunds. I myself have done one refund all year. Not even kidding. We're almost in September, and that was a doozy of a refund. I'll, I'll leave that story for another day when I'm not so, uh, heated up by it. Anyway, these people that are chasing volume, their, their, their support emails would be crazy. Really, it would be a lot. Now that's a job. That's a job that you gave yourself. It doesn't feel like an exciting business owner thing to do. Now the other game, the game that I love playing- Is 40 people buy my course every month. I did a post on this on Instagram. I sell 40 courses every single month. Now, my courses can range between 27 and $97, and that's, to me, that feels really nice. Now, again, 40 might seem a lot to you, but heck, to me, I'm like, "I'm not asking for 550 people. I just want 40." And out of those 40, six of them go, "Oh my God," like,"I really like Ruby's vibe." This is just… I- it's about that, right? So out of 40, six people go, "You know what? I wanna do deeper work with her." And they're willing to pay me 5K, and they're willing to pay me 10K, wherever they're at. And they don't need a sales call, not one. They'll just send me a message and they'll say, "Hey, I wanna join a mastermind with you. What do you have for private stuff? Can we do an in-person day?" And that's it. A lot of this will come through when I'm walking to do school pickup and get Teddy from school, or it will happen when I'm in between tennis lessons and I see, like, a little ping come up and I'll finish off my tennis lesson and it's like, "Oh my gosh." And it will happen when I'm on a flight somewhere, and I'll see that little like, "Hey, I'm ready to do this. Like, how, how do I sign up?" So if you think about it, world number one with low ticket, high volume is the same offer and it's the same price point as scenario two where I'm only looking to get 40 sales every single month. No ads unless I boost like one or two. You know, like last month, honestly, I think I spent nothing on ads. Not even boosted. Nothing. Even the month before, nothing again. And then the month before that I probably did like four or 500 bucks in total, and they definitely brought in sales. So, you know, just transparently, I'm sort of inconsistent with ads because at the moment, I don't know if this is kind of what I wanna say, but it's like I don't really… I'm not, I'm not concentrating on that part of my business just yet with like nailing down the ads game. But you guys already know that. But anyway, that's the landscape. And you can choose, do you wanna be in scenario one or do you wanna be in scenario two? I don't know, guys. I don't know. Come to scenario two, please. And this is also scenario two is gonna be way better if you've got a community or a bridge offer, and you do want to have that deep work with people. You do wanna have five people in a mastermind, 10 people in an inner circle. You do wanna host retreats in Sweden, whatever, you know? And that to you feels amazing. You do wanna have 15 private clients on your books that you absolutely love. You do wanna offer one-to-one Voxer chats and things like that. Low ticket's gonna open up the doors for you much faster that way. So quick thing before I go deeper. I'm not able to go through the entire system today of how it all connects. It's a lot. It's, it's not a lot in terms of like, this is so complicated, but I just… I like to teach where I can share my screen, you know, and I've got my iPad going, and I can show you the diagrams, and I can go, "Look at this bit. Cross out this bit. Don't do this bit." So you would just be, you know, I think much more able to grasp the concepts. So I'm gonna go deep on the whole picture on the 1st of September. It's called the Mini Offers Machine, and it's gonna be 90 minutes of live workshopping. I would love to have you there, guys. Like, being on the podcast with me, you know what I'm like. You will now be able to come into the coaching room with me, and this is gonna be perfect. Like, if you're just not either in the mood or in the position to jump into something longer term, then just come to this 90-minute workshop. It's 97 bucks. I'm also gonna give you the Mini Offers Machine course for free so that as soon as you join, you will have this beautiful meaty course to jump into. And then by the 1st, you'll be all, you know, knowledged up, and you'll know the terminology, and you'll… I know your brain's just gonna be in the most sparkly place. You'll be so excited once you're on that live call. So definitely come along to that if this is already just lighting you up. Back to the biggest mistake I see. Oh my gosh, and I see it so much, like pretty much every single day, where someone is thinking, "Oh, I'll put together a low-ticket offer." And it's done in a way that it's like, oh my gosh, this is great because you're thinking about efficiencies, but the efficiency is actually effing up your low-ticket strategy. It's not… Don't do it this way, okay? So I'm gonna describe it. Someone said to me, "I have a 12-week offer. It's a mastermind, and about four weeks into the mastermind they get this awesome checklist. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna take out this checklist and I'm gonna slap 27 bucks on it, and it's gonna be cool because that's easily my low-ticket offer and people are gonna love this checklist." That's not it, guys. Please don't do that. A, you're butchering your big-ticket offer, and more importantly, what you're actually doing is that you're dropping someone into the middle of a conversation, right? That they haven't even been a part of. And it's confusing as hell for a person who has known you for about four minutes, and they've seen your stuff on Instagram. Luckily, they're clicking onto a page that they're sort of interested in, and they're confused because they have no idea what this checklist actually means for them. So here's what actually works. I really want you to lean in now because this is gonna be the golden gate to having sick low ticket strategy that will get people through the doors and moving through the doors into your high-ticket arena. Your low-ticket offer needs to be the pre-work of your high-ticket program Don't take the thing out out of the middle of your program. Take the thing out at the start of your program or your offer. And I want you to just think about that. Think about what your ideal client already needs to know, or already believe in, or already have set up. If you're a social media manager and you would love to have them set some stuff up before they work with you, or if you are a naturopath and they're already having done, you know, their health audits and whatnot before they come and sit with you in a deeper level program or one-to-one. So really have a think about that. Maybe there's a basic tech thing that they need to have in place, and you can give them a low-ticket offer that will walk them through how to set that up. So Boosting Basics, for example, is an awesome course 'cause I literally walk you through how to set up a boosted ad and the way to do it to get amazing low-ticket clients pay attention to your stuff. So that's, that's a fantastic example. Maybe there's like a mindset shift that your clients need that has to happen first. So again, there's no point dropping them into a midway point deep journaling, you know, assessment of where they're at. They, they don't know the languaging yet. It's just like, "Guys, before you come into this space, let's get you looking at what brought up these beliefs. And I want you to really understand what NLP is and what it means to jump timelines. And there's this e-book that I need you to read because it's gonna effectively rewire your belief system and make yourself ready for the big changes you want in your career, in your life, in your relationships." Another example, maybe there's one, you know, uh, belief that they need to shed before coming into a room with everybody else. Like I don't know if you can relate to this, but over the eight years of hosting my coaching business, I've had many a mastermind room. Now I can recall maybe two mastermind rooms where I had really, really hurt people in there. And it's hard to ascertain when you're in the sales process. You don't know that they're in this space until they're in a group with others. And what happens, you know, well, what happened in my group was these… They were two separate groups, thank goodness. Couldn't imagine having both of them in the same group. But anyway, two separate groups. So what happened with one of them in particular was this client was so- I- in such pain and everything would trigger her. The money stuff would trigger her, somebody else in my client group, in the mastermind group would trigger her because she was so positive and just an absolute lighthouse. And this person who was really hurt was so angry at her and was just firing off really defensive messages in the live chat. Eventually, I had to remove that client from the group, and I, you know… And, and removed her from my client, like, interactions altogether. Also removed her from private coaching with me. We had a big, long chat about it, and many years later, probably about two years later, she reached out and she emailed me very, very… a very long email that said,"Wow, Ruby, like, I've been through a two-year healing cycle since leaving your mastermind, and you really spurred on the beginning of that for me, and I just wanna explain what had happened." And she'd gone through a huge divorce and was in a lot of pain, and she's like, "I was healing from being a narcissist myself." Like, she was telling me that she was going through narcissistic healing or something like that. I was like, "What?" My mind was just blown. But I know I've gone on a bit of a tangent now, but I think what your low ticket ultimately does is if there is beliefs to be broken, what a low ticket belief workshop or e-book is going to do is it's effectively going to either draw in the right people'cause they're willing to do that work, or it's gonna repel the people that aren't ready to be in a room with you yet. And it, it may take them on other pathways before they're ready to join your rooms. And I, I am so grateful for low ticket to ultimately be a filter As opposed to being a convincer. So this really like, that's really what I've come to realize about why my low tickets are so awesome. It's… And why my rooms are so pure and full of light and, and that beautiful frequency. And I often get told, you know, from other mastermind members, it's just like,"Rubies, you pull together the most amazing rooms." Like, every single person gets along with each other. And not even exaggerating, like when I have people in the rooms together on the Gold Coast, I'm doing another one in Melbourne in January, the consistent feedback is everybody's so on the same frequency and just so like-minded. And I just think that's, that's the beauty of doing low ticket this way. So go back and listen to that segment if you missed it, but that's how you create your offer. And hang tight 'cause I got another hot tip for you coming right up. So just give me like another few minutes. I will get there. But that's number one, okay? Take that foundational thing, turn it into a short bingeable little mini offer, and that will set your mini offer machine just flowing and going. See what I did there? 1st of September, guys. Come to the live call mini offer machine. You'll love it. But basically, if it's a PDF or a workshop replay or something, that's gonna be perfect because it's something that they can get through in an afternoon when their kids are at swimming lessons or whatever the f- the thing is. But you know, I think the golden rule here, and the one that I'm absolutely… It's like I hate to say it, but I'm just gonna say it, the hill that I'm gonna die on, is that your low ticket really needs to solve one problem A checklist that you're pulling out of a 12-week program's solving shit, nothing,'cause they don't understand it. They… Like, your, your mastermind people will love it, just not these people. They're not ready for it yet. And, and I'll continue saying this. You've got to give them a quick win. You've got to give them something that they're gonna be like, "Wow, I can do it." If they can see that they can do it, they're gonna be in. They're gonna be able to be like, "Okay, I… This is it. Like, I'm here now. I've arrived." So I don't… Yeah. I also feel another kind of side door mistake that people are making are building low tickets. Like, when you build a low ticket offer, a lot of the low ticket offers that I've reviewed in the past year kind of gives you the,"Oh wow, that was really interesting" kind of vibe. Guess what? Sorry to tell you. That's not gonna sell high ticket. You don't want a low ticket that gives… leaves people with, "Oh, that was interesting. Yeah." I don't know. Have you guys ever done that at, like, a, like, a shop that… a physical shop that you've walked into and they've over explained something? Like, the place that comes to mind is this… I went to this boutique fragrance place in, in Italy and, um… That sounds so obnoxious. I went to a boutique fragrance, a apothecary in Italy. Anyway, they were over explaining the notes and I was, like, glazing over, just like… And guess what I said to them?"Wow, that's so interesting. Wow, I'm so interested." In the meantime, I'm like,"I've got a fucking headache. I need to leave this place." You know? I'm not buying their perfumes. Okay? So thinking about that, you want to leave people with, "Holy shit, that actually worked. Holy shit, I got a big win out of that." That's the moment, guys. That's the moment. Okay? So I can help you do that. Come to the workshop on the 1st of September and I'm gonna help you really look at, like, what is the difference? Well, it's a nuanced difference, but it's there. Okay? So had a chat with a client in my mastermind, the Daily Sales Mastermind, last week. She's built this gorgeous$27 offer and it was literally covering, like, nine different things. And when I say gorgeous, like gorgeously designed. Um, that is not gonna make any sales. I told her that upfront. It was just too comprehensive, and it was also literally leading people to nowhere. And so I was like, "See how you've got nine points? Let's just pick one point, one, and we're gonna strip everything else out." You should've seen her face. She's like, "Are you sure?" And I-- again, I know that I sound like a robot if you've, if you are a loyal listener of this podcast and, and watch a lot of other stuff that I put together. The moment that you say to yourself, these are the gold- this is the golden phrase to know you've got a fantastic low ticket as well. You say to yourself, "Are you sure? This is almost too basic." That's it. Did you hear that click? That's it. Okay? So do this with me. Before you go, I'm gonna give you this next hot tip, and the rest of it you have to come to Mini Offer Machine, get the course, watch the entire course and binge it, which you'll be able to do in, like, one hour, maybe less, and then come to the live call. And if you can't make it live, email me your questions. I will answer it on the live call, and then you get the replay, and you get to watch the whole thing, and you get to keep it for life. I always get that question, "Do I get the replay?" Absolutely. Okay. Here it is. Open notes on your phone or write it down. Okay? I want you to write down your high ticket program. And it could just say private coaching. Fine. Perfect. Underneath that, write down a sentence and, like, finish this sentence, I should say. I've got my eyes closed. The sentence goes, "By the time someone joins this, they already have…" Dot, dot, dot. So it could be, "They already have a basic understanding of…" Dot, dot, dot. Or another sentence, "By the time someone joins this, they already need to…" Dot, dot, dot. So what comes to mind there is if you're a relationship coach, they already need to leave their relationship, as an example. Or if you're a career coach, they already need to leave their job. And then I want you to list it out everything. What do they need to know? What do they have to have at a basic level? And what has to already be installed, AKA a belief? What already needs to be set up, AKA Meta Ads platform? And what conversation do you have on repeat in a week where you're just like, "I'm repeating this, I'm repeating this, I'm repeating this," and you're just noticing that they just needed to have had that repeated to them a few times? So I want you to just put that all into a list. Now, if you're in flow, you might get eight or nine things on that list, like awesome. And I want you to look at that list and find the one that's the most annoying to teach, okay? Like in the past, old school style, I would've probably said Give those people to someone else. Don't worry, they're not your people. Don't bother teaching. It's gonna waste your energy. You won't love it. But new school frame of thought is, no, those people do need you, and they wanna be in your philosophy and your way of doing things. Don't discount them, but we're not going to offer live time around that. We're gonna package that into a low-ticket offer, and you can funnel people over there to get them set up, and by the time they come to live time with you, it's the most juicy, abundant conversations. So the annoying topics to teach, these are the ones that you're sick of explaining again and again. These are the topics that, you know, you go, "Oh, my gosh," like, "Why does nobody already have this sorted before they get here?" They're really big indicators, okay? That's it. That is gonna be an awesome low-ticket offer. It's already in your head, and you've already been told what it is again and again by clients and customers or people that are in and around your world. And, you know, like, I think back to my career coaching days, and people were constantly asking me, like, "How do you actually make a lasting impression?" Like, "What do interviewers and HR people look out for? How do you leave a lasting impression?" I'm like, "How do you not already know this?" Like, you know, and a lot of these people were very senior. That would've been a great low-ticket offer, how to make a lasting impression, right? So that's another example. Plenty of examples in here. Nobody come at me for saying you don't get it, okay? Heaps of examples in here. However, if you still don't get it, ding, ding, ding, ding, come to Mini Offer Machine, 1st of September is the live call. You will get the call straight away. In the show notes you will grab that link. It's $97, guys. It is like, ugh, to me it just feels like such a low brainer,'cause you come into this live energy, and nobody else is doing workshops like this that feels just so practical. But it's like, I get you, babe. I know where you're at, okay? So I'm very excited to see you there. I promise I'm not gonna be talking at you for an hour and a half and then going,"If you love that, come to the $10,000 version." I promise you I'm not gonna do that. You're gonna get so much out of these 90 minutes, and you're gonna build a thing. We're gonna build a thing together, and I can't wait to see you there. All right? So think about the best low-ticket offers that we can workshop together. If you don't need the workshop and this has just given you, like, all the ideas, bloody great. I'm so excited. Tag me in your low-ticket offers when you put it out there in the world. Send me a little thing and message on, uh, Instagram. I'd love to see it. I hope you have the most abundant week. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you inside of the live call if you can make it. And in the meantime, like I said at the very start of this episode, if you want some inspiration about also making additional income in the form of brand deals, go to last week's episode. Okay. Big kisses, and I'll catch you in the next one. Bye, my loves.
